Despite all of the snow the northwest has received over the past two weeks, the drought monitors have shown little change. According to the latest USDA figures, 88% of Oregon under a Moderate Drought, or the D-1 category, a 2% improvement since February 5th. The D-2 Category, or Severe Drought, dropped from 74 to 62%. The Extreme Drought, or D-3 category, remained unchanged at 11%, all of which was reported in Central Oregon.
Meanwhile, for Washington, 58% of the state is Abnormally Dry, 10% is under a Moderate Drought, while less than 1% is a Severe Drought. The good news for Washington, roughly 41% of the state is on par for moisture levels for this time of year.
